Them
Eastport Oyster Boys
to perform special holiday concert
at King of France Tavern, Thursday, Dec.
20, 2001
Annapolis Vocal Corps to make a special appearance
"On
the first day of Christmas, my yellow lab retrieved a part of
my neighbor's pear tree." So goes the opening line of "The Twelve
Dog Days of Christmas," an Eastport take on the classic carol
as performed by Jeff Holland and Kevin Brooks, also known as
"Them Eastport Oyster Boys."
They'll
perform this new classic and others equally whacky as recorded
on the CD, "An Oyster Boy Christmas," at a special concert at
the King of France Tavern at the Maryland Inn on Church Circle
in Annapolis on Thursday, December 20, 2001.
Them
Boys will be joined by Randy Neilson on accordion, Robin Jung
on the fiddle, Tom Guay on hammer dulcimer, Randy Morris on
bass and sousaphone, and of course, the Horn Point Horns. The
Annapolis Vocal Corps will also make a special guest appearance.
Holland
and Brooks began performing together as part of Meneely's folk
quartet, "Crab Alley," and have been working as a duet for the
past eight years. They have produced two CDs, including the
Christmas project and "Miss Lonesome," issued in 1998. At this
concert, they'll also feature new tunes from their upcoming
project, "Oyster Boys on the Half Shell."
There will be two shows, one at 7:30 p.m. and one at 9:30 p.m.
The cover charge is $10 per person. Seating is very limited
in this intimate venue. For reservations, call the King of France
Tavern at the Maryland Inn at 410-216-6340. For information
on Them Eastport Oyster Boys, check out their web site at www.oysterboys.com.
CDs will be available at the concert and at the Historic Annapolis
Foundation Museum Store at the foot of Main Street.
