MRE Challenge From Our Newest Neighbor

UPDATE!

Dick and Susan have announced that they'll MATCH MRE's offer of a $30 gift certificate with one of their own! That means that a $60 certificate will go to the person who suggests the winning name of their new restaurant/bar here in Eastport, now being constructed at the site of the old Patton's Pub.

So...put your thinking caps on and if you haven't already submitted your ideas for a name for the new place, send your suggestion(s) now to Tracey at Eastport Copy.

The Franyos have imposed a May 31 deadline on picking the name, so you still have almost 21 days to put in your "2 cents worth" and turn it into a cool $60! That's quite a return on your investment!

Dick assures that he hasn't yet come up with a name and that he'll absolutely consider EVERY name we suggest! So far, more than 47 names have been entered by MREers. If you haven't submitted YOUR favorite, send it to Tracey right away.

MRE Challenge From Our Newest Neighbor

Dick Franyo and his wife, Susan, are the owners of what is going to be the newest Eastport eatery (and drinkery), which is presently being built on the site of the old Patton's Pub.

Dick is trying to come up with a really killer name for the place, one that Eastportaricans will like and embrace. He prefers that it be maritime-oriented... connected to sailing or boating (so a name like Horse Feathers might not do the job!). He's most willing to consider a name that salutes the MRE in one way or another.

Here's the Challenge: if Dick selects a name that is proposed by any one of our loyal MRE citizens, in recognition of that creativity, MRE will give that person a $30 gift certificate, good at the Dick's new restaurant! Word has it that Dick's already hired a knock-out chef for the place, so the food's gonna be great!

So...put on your thinking caps and come up with a great name. Send as many as you want to submit to Tracey at Eastport Copy and she'll keep the list (with the suggester's name attached). We're going to rely on Dick to tell us whether he's heard your suggestion before or not, but believe me, we're itchin' to get a really neat name for Eastport and itchin' to give the certificate to an MRE'er!
